Obituary for Leroy Griffin

The late Runell Bowen and John Hays was full of joy in Havanna, Florida on March 18, 1934 when Leroy Griffin became their first born child. He was educated in the Gadsen County School System. Leroy accepted Christ in his life and became a member of Straightway Missionary Holy Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. John Henry Hays, pastor. Leroy was employed at the Miami Times as a Maintenance Personnel worker until he retired.

On Wednesday, July 27, 2016 the final words in the book of life were entered and the cover closed. Leroy was preceded in death by his parents Runell Bowen and John Hays; stepfather, Williams Griffin; three brothers; one sister; and a good friend, Daisy.

Leroy leaves to cherish his memories four daughters, Georgiann, Linda, Barbara all of Ft. Pierce, Florida and Pamela (Clayron) of Jacksonville, Florida; seven sons, Leroy Jr., David, Rodney, Tony, Curtis, Eric, and John of Ft. Pierce, Florida; four brothers, LC, Robert (Gloria), Freddie, and Sam Griffin; one sister, Ella; and a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and other sorrowing relatives and friends; a special granddaughter, Sharah.

The funeral service for Leroy Griffin will be held 11AM, Saturday, August 6th, 2016 at the Samuel C. Rogers Jr. Memorial Chapel 4315 N. Main Street. The visitation will be 5 - 7PM , Friday, August 5th, 2016 at the Funerals By T. S. Warden 4315 North Main Street Jacksonville, FL 32206. Interment in Private.
