Obituary for DOMMIE JEAN ANDERSON

Mrs. Dommie Jean Anderson the Matriarch of the Anderson family was born on December 29, 1938 in Axson, Georgia to the late Mr. Fodie & Mrs. Evelyn LeCount. The family relocated to Jacksonville, Florida and she was educated in the Public Schools of Duval County.

Mrs. Anderson was joined in Holy Matrimony on the February 24, 1958 to the late Mr. Frank “Hammer” Lee Anderson, Sr. To that union of marriage six children were born, four girls and two boys. She was a loving, nurturing, and encouraging mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.

Mrs. Anderson re-dedicated her life to Jesus Christ at the House of Worship Holiness Church under the leadership of Overseer J.D. and Pastor Irene Gamble. At the time of her passing, she was a member of Hope Givers Ministry under the leadership of Dr. Teresa Kemp (Overseer). Mrs. Anderson was a homemaker and outside of her home she was employed with Bellsouth and Denson Electric Company.

Mrs. Anderson passed away on Friday, December 2, 2016 at UF Health Medical Center in Jacksonville, Florida, after a long illness.

Mrs. Anderson leaves her family and friends to cherish her loving memories: daughters, Dr. Teresa Kemp, Ms. Sylvia Anderson, Mrs. Patricia Davis (Mr. Vincent), and Ms. Nicole Holloway; sons, Mr. Frank Anderson, Jr. and Mr. Paul Anderson; grandchildren, Jonas Kemp, Tammy Lynch, Antuan Carson, Creighton Ford, Kiara Codgell, Sierra Codgell, LaKendra Jeffery, Maliyah Davis, and Vincent Davis; great-grandchildren, Kiyon Watts, Kiyonna Watts, and Corvey “Tank” Beacon; sister, Mrs. Iretha Taylor; brother-in-law, Mr. Solomon McClendon; sisters-in-law, Mrs. Gladys LeCount and Mrs. Margaret LeCount; like a daughter, Ms. Kim Britton-Williams; and a host of nieces, nephews, grand-nieces, grand-nephews, other relatives, and sorrowing friends.

The funeral service for DOMMIE JEAN ANDERSON will be held 12:00 pm SATURDAY, at the Mt. Herman Miss. Baptist Church 5527 Redpoll Ave. The visitation will be held 5 -7:00 pm, Friday at the mortuary.
