Karene Catherine Godbolt was born in Hugh, Florida on January 18, 1959 to wonderful parents, Fred Lee and Bertha Mae Sapp. She received her education in the Clay County School District. Karene confessed Christ at an early age uniting with the House of Prayer in Middleburg, Florida, where she was baptized. She later committed herself as a faithful member of New Hope For The Lost Christian Fellowship in Middleburg, Florida.

Karene met and married Kenneth Jerome Godbolt, Jr., in Green Cove Springs, Florida on July 10, 1987.

Karene departed this life on Monday, January 16, 2017. She was preceded in death by her brother, Fred Lee Sapp, Jr.

Karene leaves to celebrate her life: her husband, Kenneth Jerome Godbolt, Jr.; daughters, (affectionately known as Karene’s Girls), Kjersti (Darryl) Allen, Sheila (Shawn) Jackson, Jazmyn (Steven) Godbolt-Lombard; parents, Fred Lee and Bertha Mae Sapp; sister, Queen Elizabeth (Roosevelt) Williams; brothers, Ezzard Charles Sapp, Azell Sapp, Anthony R.R. (Ethel) Sapp; grandchildren, Kia Suggs-Land, Khadijah Means, Darrius Allen, JeSean Jackson, Tavis Jackson, Kaleah Jackson, Joseph Jackson, Kayla Jackson, Samuel Jackson, and Kaiden Lombard; mother-in-law, Vanilla Godbolt; special nieces, Corlana (Tony) Jefferson and Quantoo Sapp; nephew, Orynthal James Williams; and a host of other relatives and friends.
