Obituary for Paulette Elaine Preston
Paulette Elaine Preston the daughter of Sam Preston, Jr. and the late Cleopatra Upson Williams was born on April 21, 1959 in Jacksonville, Florida. Paulette attended Stanton Senior High School and Cosmetology School. She loved entertaining family and friends. She had a passion for helping anybody and never ended a conversation without letting everyone she spoke with know that she loved them.
Paulette accepted Jesus Christ as her personal Savior at an early age. She was a member of The Garden of Christ Ministries under the leadership of Bishop Sheila Thomas Upson, Senior Pastor.
Paulette departed this life on Friday, September 1, 2017. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Martha Shantel; brother, Stanley Sullivan; sister, Terella Preston; and granddaughter, Nylaysia Ole Nicole.
Paulette leaves behind (2) sons, Marcus (Nicole) and Marvis (Crescentia); the children she raised as her own Sam IV, Jenny, Antwan, Carlesha, Lil’ Jeff, Ra’nard and so many others; Paulette was the proud grandmother of DeAndre, Marvis “Lil’ Daddy”, Blessin, Martha, Tanyla, and many more by love; she also leaves to mourn her brothers, Sam “Pop” Preston III, Jeffery, Donald (Vicki), Rodney (Adria) and “Pooh”; sisters, Kay (Victor), Stephanie, Carla (Anthony) and Jessica; stepsisters, Iris and Renita; the Upson and Preston families; her best friends since seventh grade, Michelle Johnson, Big “D”, Christine, and very special friends, Kerry Banks, and Mike Askew.
