Obituary for LINDA SUE COLLIER

LINDA SUE  COLLIER
Linda Sue Collier was born to Julius and Mary Clark Allen on January 11, 1958 in Jacksonville, Florida. She was the granddaughter of Emma Thomas Clark in which she had a special bond with as a child whom preceded her in death. Linda was raised in Madison County, Florida where she attended the local schools. After moving back to Jacksonville, Linda attended Andrew Jackson High School. She was married at a young age to Hugh Collier, this union was later resolved. Linda was a Licensed Professional 18 wheeler Truck Driver before becoming ill. This was one of her proudest accomplishments.

Linda departed this life on Tuesday, September 19, 2017. She was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Allen; grandmother; son, Anthony Glover (1981); and brother, Julius Allen Jr.

Linda was known for her warm motherly touch and care for everyone who had the special privilege of meeting her. She always had a listening ear, and would direct everyone to Jesus Christ after a good laugh. Her home was always open as a place of refuge for anyone that needed it, and her gracious love for children defined who she was and this was evident to everyone. Her delicious collard greens and corn bread was always prepared on a Sunday for anyone that showed up. Linda was well loved by her family, especially her two sons.

Linda is survived by her loving sons, Maurice Allen (Cindy) and Hugh Preston Collier Jr.; granddaughters, Diamond Nicole Collier, Princess Grace Fountain and Faith Maurissa Allen; sisters and brothers, Brenda Baker (William) of Columbia, South Carolina, Gilbert Allen (Tonia) of Missouri City, Texas, Richard Allen (Phyllis) of Orlando, Florida, Cynthia Harris of Palm Day, Florida and Christopher Allen of Jacksonville, Florida; she was also loved by many other family members, nephews, nieces, cousins and in-laws.
