Anna Bloodworth Lee was born on April 13, 1939 in Ocillia, Georgia to Eston and Gussie Singletary. She moved to Jacksonville, Florida with her mother in 1949 and attended Stanton High School, where she graduated. Anna worked for a well known produce company on the northside for 10 years and was a foster parent. She also worked with disable adults and retired from Jax Infant Daycare after 25 years.

Anna joined New First Cornith Baptist Church at an early age under the leadership of Rev. Jones, where she served as an active and faithful member. Anna met Ernest over 40 years ago and they joined in matrimony in 2005, she loved her life and loved serving the Lord, and she was well respected and loved by all who knew her.

Death plucked a flower from our garden on Saturday, September 23, 2017 and Anna was called from earth to Heaven’s reward. She was preceded in death by her parents; grandmother, Tina Harrington; brothers, Eston Singletary Jr., Charlie Singletary Sr. and Sonnie Singletary Sr.

Anna leaves her husband of 12 years, Ernest Lee; children, Delphine lee, Jeremy Lee, Penny Jones, Jerry Phillips and Teressa Mixon; brother, Milton Jefferson; sisters, Latasha Wright, Robin Vaugh (V. Nealy Sr.), Patricia Williams, Joann Brown and Mary Lou Williams; grandchildren, Jonta’ Tillie, Jamarius Tillie, Kevon Follow, Mario Tillie Sr., Lakeisha Tillie, Martinez Jennings, Latoya Williams and Anna Simmons; niece, Debra Singletary; nephews, Charlie Singletary Jr. (Carol) and Sonnie Singletary Jr. (Brenda); cousins, Candace Lennon, Marteel Mitchell, Sarah Mitchell, Mitchele Mitchell, Chester King and Irene Williams; sister-in-laws, Shirley Ann Way and Eleanor Lee; goddaughter, Catherine Robinson; best friends, Margaret Sercey, Betsey Torres and Ora Lee McQueen; and a host of great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends.
