LUCIOUS  VAUGHN
The funeral service for LUCIOUS VAUGHN will be held 11:00AM, MONDAY, October 23, 2017 at Samuel C. Rogers, Jr. Memorial Chapel 4315 N. Main Street. The visitation will be 10 -11 am, Monday, October 23, 2017 at the mortuary. Interment in Edgewood Cemetery. Lucious Vaughn, age 68, went home to be with the Lord On October 15, 2017. Lucious was born in Bessemer, Alabama on January 8, 1949 to Lucious Vaughn and Maggie Hinton. Lucious early education was in the Alabama school system, but he graduated in Jacksonville, FL with honors from New Stanton High School Class of 1967. Lucious furthered his education at the University of Florida in Gainesville, FL then transferred to the University of Southern Illinois where he graduated with honors in 1972 with a Bachelors degree. Soon after he obtained a Masters Degree. Lucious was a multifaceted professional with proficiency in Journalism, Social Services and Education Industries. To specify, he served as a Social Worker for the State of Florida; he worked in various News Stations; he was a Buyer for Bloomingdales in New York City; a Substitute Teacher in the Alabama School System and an associate at The Home Depot and Winn-Dixie Supermarket in Jacksonville, FL. Aside from numerous career opportunities, his passion was writing. Lucious was a published author where his work was recognized in Anthology. He loved to write spine-tingling stories just in time for Halloween. Prior to his illness, Lucious decided to return to school for advanced studies. In addition to his love for education, he attended Shiloh Metropolitan Baptist Church and he loved spending time with his family as his nieces and nephews were the love of his life.
Preceding him in death were his PARENTS: Lucious Vaughn and Maggie Hinton-Hardy, SISTER-N-LAW: Dr. Helen Hardy. He leaves to celebrate his life, BROTHERS: Overseer Emeritus, Willie Hardy Sr. and Reverend Sidney Hardy Sr. SISTER-N-LAW: Lisa Hardy. NIECES & NEPHEWS: Sidney Hardy Jr. (Tarnisha), Willie Hardy Jr. (Takecia ), Pastor, Dr. Monica Hardy, Erika Hardy Henry (James), Cydney Hardy Stewart (Willie ) and Joshua Hardy. He leaves hugs and kisses to 17 great nieces and nephews, and a host of cousins, extended family and friends. Please sign the family guest book and view the video tribute @ www.tswarden.com.
