Ms. Carolyn Evoan Merrell affectionately known as “Kitty” was born on June 8, 1950 to the late Luvenia Johnson and Ernest Ruffin in Jacksonville, Florida. She attended the public schools in Duval County.

Carolyn departed this life on Tuesday, August 25, 2015 and she was preceded in death by her parents, Luvenia Johnson and Ernest Ruffin; and a brother, Ernest “Ricochet” Johnson, Jr.; uncle, Nathaniel Williams.

Carolyn leaves to cherish her memories Evans; sisters, Paulette Pollard (Jessie), and Joyce Cheathem; brothers, Paul Ruffin, Sr. (Evelyn), and Desi Johnson (Sheila); devoted nephews, Jessie Pollard (Tamika), and Willie Oliver (LaTosha); aunts, Arleatha Carter (Don), and Sadie Williams, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
