Obituary for Ronald Wayne Cooper

On Sunday, May 17, 2020, the Lord sent an Angel from Heaven to take Ronald home to be with Him.

Ron was born on August 17, 1960 in Shreveport, LA. He was preceded in death by his parents, Leanna Watts and Melvin Cooper Jr. and his loving grandparents, Helena P. Allen and Clarence Winston.

Ron attended C. E. Bryd High School in Shreveport and received his Bachelor of Science Degree at Columbia College. He gave his life to Christ at an early age and was a member of Stoner Hill Baptist Church, Shreveport, LA. He and his family joined Bethel Baptist Church in 2000. He served in the United States Navy for 22 years and was part of Desert Storm and Gulf War.

He was part of the below ships and duty stations:
Naval Base Guam, USS Oldendorf, VS-31 attached to USS Eisenhower, Fleet Training Center, Mayport, FL, Officer Candidate School in Pensacola, FL, The USS Saratoga, Mayport, FL, USS Wasp, Norfolk, VA, Trident Training Facility, Kingsbay, GA and Naval Air Warfare Center Training System, Orlando, FL where he retired as a Lieutenant. Ron worked at ADT as Customer Service Rep Supervisor and Marco Ophthalmic for 13 years as a Customer Service Rep Supervisor.

Ron leaves the following to cherish his memories: his Beloved Wife of 33 years, Theresa Cooper; Children, Ronald W. Cooper II, Alexis Cooper, and Treyana Cooper; Grandchildren, Londyn Cooper and Caleb Cooper.

Sister-in-law: Harriette Smith; Mother-in-law: Cora Green; Father-in-law: Joseph Green; Brother-in-law, Phil Green (deceased)

Nieces: Tezara Smith, Morghan Green, Leanna Sumner, and Shidestini Martinez(Ruben) (LA)

Nephews: Jujuan Green and Terrell Williams, DeAndrea Pouncey (LA), Donta Moore (NC), and Anthony Pouncey, Jr. (AJ) (LA)

Great Niece: Armoni Gadson, Great Friends and a host of other relatives.

The funeral service for Ronald Wayne Cooper will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, May 30th, 2020 at the Bethel Baptist Institutional Church 215 Bethel Baptist Street Jacksonville, FL 32202. The visitation will be 4:00 - 7:00 pm, Friday, May 29th, 2020 at the Funerals by T.S. Warden 4315 North Main Street Jacksonville, FL 32206. Interment in Jacksonville National Cemetery.
