Obituary for Alberta Parker Johnson

Alberta Parker Johnson was born in Allendale, South Carolina to the late Mack Parker, Sr. and Janie Lou Dunbar Parker. She was born on June 5, 1931. Alberta confessed Christ at an early age, uniting with St. Mary Baptist Church in Allendale County, Martin, South Carolina. She received her education at Allendale High School.

Alberta worked as a hairdresser until retirement, then became a homemaker. Later, she met a man named Leroy Johnson in 1956. He chased her for over one year then she said yes. They were united in wedlock August 31, 1957 until he received his wings September 20, 2017.

Alberta received her wings September 9, 2020 at 8:00 AM at Community Hospice at St. Vincent Hospital, Jacksonville, Florida. She looked up and slept away with a smile on her face.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Leroy Johnson; brothers, Joe, Major, and Mack Jr. Parker; sisters, Lizzie Simpson and Phoebe McNeil.

Alberta loved her dedicated and only son, Major Parker; granddaughter, Tamera Parker; brother, Gary Parker of Hallendale, Florida; sisters-in-law, Catherine Johnson of South, Carolina, Ethel Parker, Emma Mae Parker, Mattie B. Robinson, and Gracie Taylor Bookard (Thomas) of Washington D.C.; loving nieces, Ernestine McCoy, Brinder R. Lawrence, Linda R. Goodman, and Patricia R. Bettis (Adolphus); dedicated cousins, Stephanie Bennett-Jones and Beverly Ann Williams; and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, other relatives, many friends, and neighbors. Alberta will be missed. 2 Timothy 4:7-8

The funeral service for Alberta Parker Johnson will be held at 1:30 pm Friday, September 18th, 2020 at the Samuel C. Rogers Jr. Memorial Chapel 4315 N. Main Street Jacksonville, FL 32206. The visitation will be 5:00 - 7:00 pm, Thursday, September 17th, 2020 at the Funerals by T.S. Warden 4315 North Main Street Jacksonville, FL 32206. Interment in Restlawn Cemeteries South.
