Alfred Spencer was born on March 23, 1936 in Green Cove Springs, Florida to the late John Spencer and Ola Mae Adams. He graduated from Dunbar High School and attended Walker Business College. Alfred joined the military and proudly served in the United States Army. He would later retire after a lifelong career with the United States Postal Service.

Alfred found heavenly rest in the arms of the Lord on February 24, 2021. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Alfred leaves to cherish his memory: The love of his life Dr. Delphia Bennett; children, Alfred Spencer, Helen Sherman (Jerry), Dr. Kelly Spencer-Pulizzi (Frank), Lisa Wimberly (Dwayne), Erica Spencer, Joyce Chafen (Tony), Reba Johnson, Bonnie Bennett-Sutton (John), Reginald Bennett, Louis Bennett II (Pamela) and Elena Bennett; grandchildren, Andrea Spencer, Anthony Coleman (Brittany), Alphonso Spencer (Pinky), Javonda Chafen, Tsukiko Pulizzi, Taiyoko Pulizzi, Dayun Wimberly, Markeith Ford (Kristian), Breyun Ford, Resheena Hardy (Andre), Jelisa Alridge, Lonnie Johnson II, Chantel Johnson, Alfred Spencer and Ivory Spencer; as well as a host of loving family members and friends.
