Mr. Anthony L. Mosley (Coach) went home to be with the Lord on April 6, 2021. He was born to David Mosley and Betty Robinson in Jacksonville, Florida.
Anthony was a devout Christian and his faith was steadfast and solid until the very end. Anthony was educated in Duval County Public Schools. He graduated from Forrest High School and received his Associate in Arts from Florida State College at Jacksonville (FSCJ), his Bachelors Degree from Union College in Barberville, Kentucky, and his Master’s Degree from Jacksonville University.
His career began in Duval County Schools, at Paxon High school teaching and coaching the boys junior varsity football and boys varsity basketball team respectively (`87). After a decade in the public school system Anthony became the assistant basketball coach at Edward Waters College (EWC) (’98). During his 7 year tenure Anthony assisted in leading the team to multiple NAIA national tournament appearances. He then returned to Duval County school system briefly before becoming the Head Coach at Edward Waters (’06). As head Coach Anthony again saw success leading the team back to the national stage. After 6 years he returned once again to the classroom as he continued to work with students in Bradford County. Anthony has educated, led, mentored, trained, and loved countless kids, players and students. Coach Anthony Mosley was highly respected among the basketball and teaching communities.
He leaves a devoted and cherished wife, Dr. Twilla S. Mosley; sons, Anthony Mosley, II and Ambrose Mosley; mother, Betty Robinson (Leroy); brothers, Reginald Graham (Candice), David Mosley; sisters, Wanza Blackmon (Devron), Yualanda Fletcher, Shawn Coney (Chris); sister-in-law, Jacquelyn Smith; godchildren, Tabitha Carter, Tommy Ben, Jocelyn Snodey; a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and special friends of the family, Josiah Lindsey, Alexis Levatt and Morgan Fry.
The funeral service for Anthony Levon Mosley will be held 10:30 a.m. Saturday, April 10th, 2021 at the Paxon Revival Center Church, 5461 Commonwealth Avenue, Jacksonville, FL 32254. The visitation will be 5:00 - 7:00 p.m., Friday, April 9th, 2021 at the Funerals by T.S. Warden ,4315 North Main Street, Jacksonville, FL 32206. Interment in Private.
