Obituary for Barbara Jean Kirce (Clark)

Barbara Jean Clark Kirce was born in Macon, Georgia on March 18th, 1945, to Alphonso Clark and Willie Mae Alford Clark. She moved to Jacksonville along with her six brothers and two sisters. She attended and graduated from Mathew W. Gilbert, with the Class of ’63. She began attending Jones Business College at Jacksonville and started her illustrious
career with Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Florida. She then engaged her entrepreneurial spirit to have several successful ventures, including a hair salon and home décor business.

While working for Blue Cross, she met her life-long love in Thomas S. Kirce and raised 3 wonderful children.

Barbara left us on Friday, August 5th, 2022 at Baptist Medical Center in Downtown Jacksonville surrounded by family. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Tonya Thomas; father, Alphonso Clark; mother, Willie Mae Clark; brothers, Augusta, Cyril, Earnest, Jack, and Robert; and sister, Geraldine.

Barbara leaves behind: husband, Thomas S Kirce; sons, Sean C. Kirce and Tori S. Kirce (Tinisha); grandchildren, Britney Smith (Darrell), Courtney Johnson (Jakwaun), Sean D. Kirce, Christian Kirce, and Tamir Kirce; great-grandchildren, Cayden, Anayia, and Jayce; sister, Catherine Albright; brother, Lendwood Clark; and a host of countless other loved ones, family, and friends.
