Obituary for Barbara Ann Moore

Mrs. Barbara Ann Moore Nicholas was born on November 6, 1956 to the late Jetta Moore and Harold Wallace. Barbara was a life long resident of Jacksonville, Florida where she attended the local schools in Duval County graduating from Jean Ribault Senior High School, Class of 1975. She also attended JOIC and Florida Community College (FSCJ), graduating with an Associate Degree in Computer Science. Barbara enjoyed baking,sewing, traveling and spending time with her family.

Barbara accepted Christ at a young age and was added to the body of Christ. She also taught fifth grade bible study class at Northside Church of Christ. Later Barbara met and married Benjamin Nicholas, Jr. In her earlier years she was employed by Premier Meats and Drapers Poultry. Later she became the secretary for the Science Department at Edward Waters College, where she worked for many years. After leaving EWC, Barbara worked as the account Manager for Siplin Enterprise until her health failed.

Barbara was called home on Saturday, May 5, 2018. She was preceded in death by both parents and two brothers, Wilbert and Lawrence Sr.

Barbara leaves to cherish her fond memories: her husband, Benjamin Nicholas Jr.; children, Petty Officer Second Class, Malcolm Johnson, Chassity, Cody, Shannon (James), Travis (Imani), Danielle, Benjamin IV (Jessica); eleven grandchildren; brothers, Harold (Gloria), Warren (Amy) and Robert Moore; sisters, Mary James, Linda Wade, Carolyn McNeil (Richard), Lillian Scott and Lisa Moore; aunt, Delois Rosier; brothers-in-law, Benjamin II, Maurice and Jerome Nichlos and Antonio Kirtsey; sisters-in-law, Verneal Anderson, Valeria Nicholas and Tatherree Zanders (Anthony); special friends, Marvette Andrews, Annie Jones and Irene Holmes; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and sorrowing friends.
