Ms. Barbara Ann Thompson-Reese Way, daughter of Rufus Thompson and Ruby Harris, was born June 10, 1945 in Macclenny, Florida. She served and retired as a phlebotomist at Shands Hospital. Barbara departed this life on Thursday, December 3, 2020. She was preceded in death by her father and brother, Leverne Thompson.

Her beautiful life will forever be cherished in the lives of her children: Marva Yvette Thompson (Chinn) and Antonio Reese (Karetta); grandchildren, Bruce Chinn Jr., Derick (Vernisha) Chinn, Antonio Chinn, Antonio Reese II, William (Shayla) Barker, Leibria Anthony, Corey Harris, Jasmine Ravnell, and Latoya Watts; brother, James Lee Thompson; sisters, Gedon Thompson, Gwendolyn Nelson, Letetia Harris, and Ruby Harris; goddaughters, Barbara Waters and LaTonya Butler; devoted friends, Precious Greene and Linda McClendon; a host of great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

The funeral service for Barbara Ann Way will be held at 12:30 pm Friday, December 11th, 2020 at the Samuel C. Rogers Jr. Memorial Chapel 4315 N. Main Street Jacksonville, FL 32206. The visitation will be 4:00 - 6:00 pm, Thursday, December 10th, 2020 at the Funerals by T.S. Warden 4315 North Main Street Jacksonville, FL 32206. Interment in Mt. Herman Cemetery.
