Bennie Lee Roberts was born on June 3, 1957, in Jacksonville, Florida. He was the oldest child of Wil Roberts and Vera Arline Sykes. He was the older brother of Leonard Roberts and of his three sisters: Stephanie Cobb, Kimberly Dixon, and Jessica Sykes.

Bennie graduated from Robert E Lee High School in 1975. After high school, he attended two years of college at Florida A&M University where he played the Trumpet in the world famous Marching 100 Band. Bennie then found an interest in the United States Military. He joined the Army where he served our country with a grateful heart.

Bennie was well known in his community. He had many friends. His hobbies also included cooking, creating video games, paralegal work, and riding his bicycle.

Bennie was preceded in death by his father, Wil Roberts; mother, Vera Arline Sykes; and brother, Leonard Roberts. On Wednesday, March 15, 2023, God sent his heavenly angels to carry his child safely home to behold him forever more. Thank you, Jesus, he is finally at peace. No more pain or suffering: all his worries are now over. He found sweet, sweet rest at last!

Bennie leaves to cherish his memories siblings: Stephanie Cobb (Jeffrey), Kimberly Dixon, and Jessica Sykes; niece and nephews: Rashad Walker (Eureka), Renaldo Walker, Renee Walker, Jeremiah Cabral, and Jackson Cabral; and a host of other relatives and sorrowing friends.
