Obituary for Betty Jean Jenkins

The beautiful journey of life began for Betty Jean Jenkins on April 5, 1942. She was born in Monticello, Florida to the late Mrs. Willie Bell and Berry Allen and was one of eight children. Betty attended the local schools of Duval County. She also rendered more than 20 years of dedicated service in the food industry. 
 
She was united in Holy Matrimony to the late Charles Jenkins and was the proud mother of nine children. 

Our mother was a member of Deliverance Church of Our Lord Jesus under the leadership of Bishop Reginald Chever. She later transferred her membership to Real World Worship Centers, Inc., where Rev. James Kennerly is the pastor. 

Betty answered her Master’s call to rest on Saturday, August 22, 2020. 

Mama is preceded in death by two sons, Freddie Lee Brown and Arthur Jenkins; her parents, Berry and Willie Bell Allen; siblings, James, Mary, and Bernice. She leaves a legacy of love to be remembered  and cherished by her sons and daughters, Montemus Jenkins (Betty), Charlotte Garner, Yvonne Kyles (Ernest), Reginald Jenkins (Laura), Aaron Jenkins, Lisa Jenkins, and Kimberly Kennerly (James); 22 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren; 3 great great-grandchildren; sisters, Willie Bell Garvin, Geneva Griffin, Lucinda McQueen, and Inez Dawson; and a host of nieces and nephews, and 3 sisters-in-law.   

The funeral service for Betty Jean Jenkins will be held 11:00 am Monday, August 31st, 2020 at the Samuel C. Rogers Jr. Memorial Chapel 4315 N. Main Street Jacksonville, FL 32206. The visitation will be 2:00 - 4:00 pm, Sunday, August 30th, 2020 at the Funerals by T.S. Warden 4315 North Main Street Jacksonville, FL 32206. Interment in Restlawn Cemeteries South.
