Obituary for Beulah Mae O'Neal

Mrs. Beulah Mae Lee O’Neal was born on December 20, 1931 to Elsie Lee and Willie Mae Hill Lee in Sylvester, Georgia. She was a very loving sister, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, cousin and friend. Beulah attended local schools in Sylvester, Georgia and Jacksonville, Florida. She moved from Sylvester, GA, to Jacksonville with her family and within a few years, met Johnson H. O’Neal Sr. while he was stationed at the Naval Air Station in Jacksonville. They married on November 21, 1947 and to that union seven children were born. As a military wife, Beulah traveled with her husband and lived in many cities around the United States.

She had a sweet, quiet personality and spirit, and always had a smile on her face. Rather than complain, she looked for solutions to the many obstacles that she faced in life. There was nothing that she wouldn’t do for her family. She was graced with many talents and had a passion for sewing. Beulah loved to cook, and she shared many recipes with her daughters and granddaughters, as well as teaching them how to prepare them.
