Brian Stephen Swancy was born June 27, 1987 in Kokomo, Indiana to Terrie Proctor Swancy and the late Howard Swancy. He moved with his military parents to Clinton, Maryland. In 1994, his mother remarried and they moved to Springfield, Virginia and he was raised by his mother and wonderful stepfather, Walter Sherrod Jr., who was a loving powerful force in his life. He confessed Christ at an early age.
Brian attended Fairfax County Public Schools. After graduating from Hayfield Secondary School in Alexandria, Virginia with an Advanced Studies Diploma, Class of 2005; he went on to attend Lynchburg College. He later enlisted in the Air Force and served as a Security Forces Specialist. After basic training, he was assigned to 790 Missile Security Squadron, F.E. Warren Air Force Base, Cheyenne, Wyoming. Brian later moved to Jacksonville, Florida with his parents and attended Florida State College Jacksonville and began working at UF Health/Shands Hospital Jacksonville as a Security Guard. He recently was working for Allegiance Staffing assigned to YaYa Creations, Inc.
Brian loved history, trivia, reading the bible and sports. He enjoyed playing basketball and riding bikes with his kids.
Brian peacefully departed this life to his final resting place on April 25, 2021 in Jacksonville, Florida. He was preceded in death by his father, Howard Swancy; daughter, Kendall Swancy; and grandparents, Jerome Sr. and Thelma Proctor.
Brian leaves to cherish his memory: two children, Dallas and Kenzie Swancy; his loving parents, Walter and Terrie Sherrod; two sisters, LaShanda Swancy and Celeste Sherrod Baker; Godparents, Jerome Proctor Jr. and Trudy Gaines; and a host of loving relatives and friends.
The funeral service for Brian Stephen Swancy will be held 2:30 p.m. Saturday, May 8th, 2021 at the Samuel C. Rogers Jr. Memorial Chapel, 4315 North Main Street, Jacksonville, Florida 32209. The visitation will be 5:00 - 7:00 p.m., Friday, May 7th, 2021 at the Funerals by T.S. Warden, 4315 North Main Street, Jacksonville, FL 32206. Interment in .
