Obituary for Bruce Stanley Williams

Bruce Stanley Williams was born in Jacksonville, Florida on August 9, 1947 to Margaret Green and the late Alonzo Williams Sr. Bruce was baptized at an early age, where he attended Mt. Moriah A.M.E Church. He attended Stanton Vocational High School, where he was a member of the basketball team and known as “Trickman” on the court. He later went on to receive his GED from Florida Community College. Bruce was drafted in the military in 1966 where he honorably served in the United States Army and received the National Defense Service Medal, he went on to have a career with Florida Wire and Cable.

Bruce departed this life on February 12, 2022. He was preceded in death by his father, Alonzo Williams Sr.; sister, Ilene Jones and son, Bruce Lamar Clark.

Bruce leaves to mourn his passing his loving children: daughters, Sheilonda Qualles, Toni Hale (James) and Tiffany C. Williams; son, Avery L. Johnson; a devoted mother, Margaret Williams; siblings, Dale Marie Simmons, Gary L. Williams Sr., Joyce R. Ponder, Reginald Williams (Janice), Michael T. Walker, Alonzo Williams Jr., Maxine Jones and Josephine W. Mitchell; great aunt, Dorothy Carter; 9 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren; lifelong friends, Delores Middleton and Lillian Spyies; very special friends, Edwina Forester, Faleesia Forester, Bertha Oliver, James Ponder Sr. and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. 

The funeral service for Bruce Stanley Williams will be held 10:00 a.m. Thursday, February 24th, 2022 at the Magnolia Missionary Baptist Church, (MASK REQUIRED) 5729 Avenue B., Jacksonville, FL 32209. The visitation will be 5:00 - 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, February 23rd, 2022 at the Funerals by T.S. Warden, (MASK REQUIRED) 4315 North Main Street, Jacksonville, FL 32206.
