Carl attended school in Jacksonville, Florida graduating from Ribault High School. He attended Encino College in California. In 1977, he went into the United States Army and served 12 years. In 1986, he met and married Gwendolyn Reed, which ended in divorce.
Carl departed this life on Saturday, May 7, 2022 and was preceded in death by his parents, Aaron Sellers, Reatha Odum, and Vasil Sellers; aunts and uncles. He leaves to cherish his memories his loving sister, Evelyn Sellers Shipp (Danny); nieces, Neshia Burns (Michael), Danese Shipp Tremble (Carl), Jania Pace, and Jada Smith; great nephews, C.J. Tremble and Brandon Tremble; and a host nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
