Obituary for Carrie Mae Adams

Carrie Mae Adams was born on November 19, 1919 in Cordele, Georgia. She married Roy Adams on April 24, 1938 and they were happily together for 77 years, until his passing on May 18, 2015. There were fourteen children born into this union, nine sons and five daughters.

Carrie fell asleep in death on Monday, June 17, 2019. She was preceded in death by her parents, Will and Claudie Lee Thomas; five siblings, Ida B. Miller, Willie Thomas, Anna Mae Wilder, Annie B. Lawson and Doretha Johnson. Also preceded her in death were two sons, Johnnie Adams of Albany, New York, who passed on May 3, 2015 and Reginald L. Adams of Jacksonville, Florida, who passed on October 13, 2018.

Carrie dedicated her life to Jehovah God and was baptized in 1963, where she attended the Westside Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses for over forty years, then the Lake Forest Congregation. Because of her love for Jehovah and the truth she had learned, Carrie Mae faithfully and zealously served as a regular pioneer from 1963 until she was approved to be added on the pioneer infirm list (for the elderly who no longer could get out in service) in 2006, until her passing. Carrie was privileged to be used by Jehovah to aid many individuals into Jehovah’s organization. Throughout her life, as a Witness for Jehovah, Carrie Mae fixed her heart on serving and pleasing our Loving God and Father, Jehovah until the end.

Carrie leaves to cherish her memories: seven sons, Charles Adams of Atlanta, Georgia, Roy A. (Minnie) Adams, Shadrach (Irene) Adams, Walter (Annette) Adams, Bernard (Virginia) Adams, Michael Adams and Eric K. Adams; five daughters; Edith (James) Feacher, Claudia Williams, Brenda (Robert) Peek, Cynthia Farley and Sharon Adams all of Jacksonville, FL; daughter-in-law, Brenda Adams of Albany, NY; also left to cherish her great memories are thirty-nine grandchildren (The Goobers); sixty-seven great-grandchildren; fifteen great great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, cousins, and many loving spiritual friends.

The funeral service for Carrie Mae Adams will be held 1PM, Saturday, June 22nd, 2019 at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 3003 Soutel Drive. Interment will be in the Edgewood Cemetery, 4519 Edgewood Drive. Ms. Adams departed this life on June 17, 2019. She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Adams; sons, Johnnie Adams and Reginald Adams.She leaves to cherish her memories, her 7 sons, Charles Adams, Atlanta, Ga, Roy Alvin (Minnie), Shadrach (Irene), Walter (Annette), Bernard (Virgina), Michael and Eric K. Adams. Her five daughters, Edith Feacher (James), Claudia Williams, Brenda Peek (Robert), Cynthia Farley and Sharon Adams, all of Jacksonville, FL. Also, left to cherish her great memories are: 39 grandchildren, 67 great- grandchildren, 15 great, great, grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and many loving spirtual friends. Viewing for Ms. Adams will be held Friday at Funerals by T.S Warden 4315 North Main Street, Jacksonville from 5 PM -7 PM. Please sign the family guest book.
