Obituary for Carrie Mae Thomas

Carrie Mae Ephron-Thomas was born December 10, 1948 to Willie Ephron and Carrie Mae Ephron in Jacksonville, Florida. She attended and received her education at William M. Raines High School and Florida State College. Carrie confessed Christ at an early age and was a member of Mt. Ararat Baptist Church. She married Nathaniel Thomas on January 23, 1970 and to this union two sons, Nathan and Joseph; one daughter, Karen was born.

Carrie departed this life Sunday, October 27, 2019. She was preceded in death by her parents, Willie and Carrie Mae Ephron; six brothers, Milton, James, Leonard, Archie, Willie and Freddie Ephron; three sisters, Lelia Mae Corey, Willie Mae Corey and Sylvia Howard.

Carrie leaves to cherish her memories: husband, Nathaniel Thomas; sons, Nathan Thomas (Clander) and Joseph Thomas; daughter, Karen Monts (Latane); 16 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; six sisters, Dorothy Kohn, Rosemary Woods, Jeanetta Hooper, Blanche Ephron, Brenda McCormick, Pam Ephron, a host of other relatives and friends.


The funeral service for Carrie Mae Thomas will be held 11:00 am Saturday, November 9th, 2019 at the Philippian Community Church 7578 New Kings Road Jacksonville, Florida 32219. The visitation will be 5:00 - 7:00 pm, Friday, November 8th, 2019 at the Funerals By T. S. Warden 4315 North Main Street Jacksonville, FL 32206. Interment in Jacksonville National Cemetery.
