Cassandra was born on October 13, 1969 in Jacksonville, Florida to the late William Alston and Christine Alston. Cassandra graduated from Jean Ribault Sr. High School in 1987, where she was a member of the Lady Trojills Club and the famous Marching “200” Band, Clarinet Section. She furthered her education at Florida A&M University in Tallahassee, Florida.
Cassandra later obtained her Esthetician license at Heritage Institute to do skin therapy, body wrap, and lashes. She later began to teach at Florida State College at Jacksonville as a Facial Specialist Instructor, along with starting her own business as a Master Esthetician (Royal Squaire Beauty Spa & Lash Bar).
In 1991, Cassandra married her childhood friend Willie C. Squaire, Jr. and they had 3 children: the late Willie C. Squaire III, Chrysdeanna Squaire, and William Austin-Squaire. Cassandra and Jr. later divorced in 2007, but still remained friends to co-parent their 3 children.
Cassandra was a faithful worker and devoted daughter-in-law to Willie C. Squaire Sr. of Moncrief Liquor & Lounge, where she worked for over 20 years known to everyone as “Queen Bee”. Cassandra started “Da Crief Ryder Motorcycle Club” where she was the President along with members: Cassandra Squaire, Brenda Squaire-Fields, Tyrone Coleman, Jose Salaman, Tatoo and Patricia Robinson.
Cassandra Alston-Squaire was also affiliated with the Diverse Performance Auto Club (President: Brian Woolsey & Vice President: Cora Woolsey) Cassandra was able to showcase her vehicle “Snow White” and give back to her community through book bag and clothing drives for the kids, feeding the homeless, face painting for the kids on Halloween, and women’s empowerment car show called “Girl Power. She led the cause in many of these efforts’ multiple times over the past 3 years.
Cassandra leaves to cherish her memory, children: Chrysdeanna Squaire and William Austin Squaire; Siblings: William Gregory Alston and Francina Alston-Valdes; Two sisters-in-law of the late Ossie Dean Squaire: Cassandra Squaire and Brenda Squaire-Fields; One Father-in-law: Willie C. Squaire, Sr.; Two special nieces: Deidre Holzendolf and Mckenzie Fields; One Godmother: Rosa Hickson; Eight special cousins: Veolia Hickson, Gwendolyn Singletary (Paul), Dr. Edna Capers (Ricky), Joseph Taylor Jr., Johnnie Mae Alston-Carter, Ida Lee Gavin-Nathaniel, Charlie Howard, and Cornelia H. Pinckney. She was preceded in death by her mother: Christine Alston; Father: William Alston, and Son: Willie C. Squaire III.
The funeral service for Cassandra Louise Squaire will be held 1:30 p.m. Saturday, May 15th, 2021 at the Samuel C. Rogers Jr. Memorial Chapel, 4315 North Main Street, Jacksonville, Florida 32209. The visitation will be 5:00 - 7:00 p.m., Friday, May 14th, 2021 at the Funerals by T.S. Warden, 4315 North Main Street, Jacksonville, FL 32206. Interment in Private.
