Sister Catherine Loraine McCoy was born on March 19, 1968 to Mary and Frederick McCoy in Jacksonville, Florida. She attended the Duval County Public Schools graduating from Jean Ribault Senior High School, Class of 1985.

Catherine was a long time member of Greater Friendly Missionary Baptist Church, where she served on the Usher Board for many years. Catherine joined Word Vine Christian Fellowship, Inc. of Jacksonville, Florida, where she also served on the Usher Board, and loved to sing in the choir. She was devoted to Christ, her church, family and many friends.

Catherine departed this life on April 18, 2015 and was preceded in death by her parents, Mary and Frederick McCoy; sister Priscilla McCoy; uncles, Charles Cockfield, Rev. Lagree, Marvel Taylor.,

Catherine leave to cherish her memories; her brothers, Ogden McCoy, Lawerence McCoy, Frederick McCoy, and Lamar McCoy; sister-n-law, Mae McCoy; nephew, Ogden McCoy, Jr.; aunts, Jewell (Tommie) Green, Rose (James) McCallum, Gwendolyn (Ronald) Bryant, Gail Taylor, Wanda Cockfield, Lucille (John) Batieste, Jacqueline (Gary) Timmons, Sandra Lagree, Ella Taylor; uncles, Charles Taylor, Lawrence (Sadie) Taylor, Willie Earl, Wayne Taylor, Benjamin (Kim) Williams, Melvin (Betty Mae) White, Craig (Nedria) Strong; nephews and nieces, Earnest (Stephaine) Walker, Terrill Hampton, Kentyata Walker, and a cousins and friends.

The funeral service for Catherine Loraine McCoy will be held 11AM, Saturday at the Word Vine Christian Fellowship 2633 Van Gundy Rd. The visitation will be 5 - 7PM, Friday at the mortuary.
