Mrs. Charlie Rosa Brightwell was born on October 19, 1934 in Jacksonville, Florida to the late John H. and Minnie E. Brown. She was married to the late Mr. Roosevelt Brightwell, Jr.,

Charlie graduated from New Stanton High School and attended Edward Waters College. She was baptized at an early age and was a member of Abyssinia Missionary Baptist Church.

Charlie Rosa departed this life on Wednesday, March 21, 2018. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and daughter, Rhonda Hardeman.

Charlie Rosa leaves to cherish loving memories: daughters, Cathea Downer (Neal, Sr.), Patricia Collins, Rowena Hagans (Vernon, Sr.), Becky Brightwell, Cheryl Creech (James, Sr.), Yvette Brightwell, Nikki Williams and Brittany Brightwell; sons, Roosevelt Brightwell, Sr., Bruce Brightwell, Sr. (Yvonne), Steve Brightwell, Sr. and Kirk Brightwell, Sr. (Jamil); Charlie is also survived by 36 grandchildren; 59 great-grandchildren; 3 great great-grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and special friends, Brenda Promise and Gloria Smith.
