Obituary for Charlie James Young

Mr. Charlie James Young was born on September 14, 1946 in Jacksonville, Florida, to the late Mr. Charles Young and Margaret Tryphenia (Tutson) Young. To this union was born two children, two boys.

At a young age, Charlie attended Mt. Ararat Baptist Church where he served as an Usher Board Member. He also received his formal education in the Duval County Public School System.

In his early twenties, Charlie was drafted into the United States Army, during the Vietnam area, were he served in Fort Benning, GA, and the Panama Canal Zone until his honorable discharge. Upon his discharge, he met Deloris and together they were blessed with a son, Keith R. Goldson.

Charlie was employed with numerous occupations throughout Duval County, and had a love for art and music. Charlie was a kind hearted man who enjoyed joking around and playing tricks on his cousins and friends.

In parting this walk of life, Charlie leaves to cherish his memory one loving son, Keith R. Goldson; three brothers: Benjamin Young (Gwendolyn), Derek Young (Margaret), and Stephen Young; two sisters: LaTonya Young Lattimore (David) and LaShana Young Bowick (Marvin); four grandchildren; two great grandchildren; one aunt, Bessie (Tutson) Thomas; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and loving friends.

The funeral service for Charlie James Young will be held at 10:00 am Tuesday, February 25th, 2020 at the Samuel C. Rogers, Jr. Memorial Chapel 4315 N Main St Jacksonville, FL 32206. The visitation will be 5:00 - 7:00 pm, Monday, February 24th, 2020 at the Funerals by T.S. Warden - Samuel C. Rogers, Jr. Memorial Chapel 4315 N Main St Jacksonville, FL 32206.
