Christopher Raynard Clayton “Gentle Giant” was born September 13, 1968 to James S. Clayton and Diane E. Raysor in Fernandina Beach, Florida. He has been a life long resident of Fernandina Beach, Florida. Christopher joined First Assembly of God Church (FB) at the early age of eight. He attended and graduated from Fernandina Beach High School, Class of 1989. Following graduation he attended Holmes College in Goodman, Mississippi and FCCJ of Jacksonville, Florida. During his high school and college years he loved and played football.

Christopher was a member of the Elks Lodge #1410, among other community organizations. He was employed with Dave Turner Plumbing Company of Fernandina. His hobbies were hunting, fishing, and cooking. He was a true hunter and fisherman who love to share his catch and wild game. Chris was a loving, fun filled son, father, brother and uncle with a tender heart.

Christopher answered the call from his Heavenly Father on November 13, 2019.

Christopher leaves to cherish his memories: parents, James S. Clayton, Herman and Diane Raysor of Fernandina Beach, FL; children, Alyssa, Tristyn, Chrisdiana, Killian, Ashanti and Jamelia (known as “Daddy Chris”); granddaughter, Kalaya (Chris little football); heart love, Donna Bennett; sisters, Renae and Kerstin of Fernandina Beach, FL; brothers, Kevin Clayton of Fernandina Beach, FL and John Edwards of Rochester, NY; one uncle, Darrlyn of Brunswick, GA, and a host of aunts, cousins, other relatives and friends.

The funeral service for Christopher Raynard Clayton will be held 11AM Saturday, November 23rd, 2019 at the New Zion Missionary Baptist Church 10 South 10th Street Fernandina Beach.
