Obituary for Curtis Lee Goggins Sr.
Mr. Curtis Lee Goggins, Sr was born on June 26th, 1956, to Mr. Neptune Goggins and the late Emma Lee Goggins in Jacksonville, Florida. He entered eternal rest Sunday, November 27th, 2022, at 08:54 am.
Mr. Curtis L Goggins is a graduate of the 1974 Class of Andrew Jackson Tigers. Upon graduating high school, Curtis enlisted in the United States Army where he served our country from 1975 until 1980. During his stint in the army, Curtis moved up the ranks to Sergeant. After his departure from the army, Curtis began working for the International Long Shoreman Association (Local 1408) where he would spend over 40 years before he retired in 2019. Curtis was a very wise and intellectual man who loved speaking about history and current events. To know him was to love him and he will truly be missed beyond measure.
Curtis was preceded in death by his daughter, Valencia Goggins; mother, Emma Lee Goggins; brothers, Larry and Nathaniel Goggins; and brother-in-law, Willie Jones, Jr.
He leaves to mourn his passing; His Loving devoted wife of 40 plus years, Chemise D Goggins.
Children: Curtis Jr (Lamonda) and Deangelo (Octavia)
6 Grandchildren: India, Albanee’, Deangelo Jr, Janathen, Myles, and Nya; and 1 great grandson, Riley.
Siblings: Alphonso (Gwendolyn), Elder Melvin (Betty), Vanessa Gail (Robert), Sandra Yvonne, Brenda, Howard (Wanda), Verneese, Horace; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law; Belinda Williams, Nevonya Jones, Thesis Jones, Andrew Montana, and Latonya Hines (Lenny); and a host of loving relatives and friends including his cousin Peter Alvin, Godson Bilal Jackson, dearest friends, Isaac Young and Michael Reid and a devoted niece, Donnett Jones.
The funeral service for Curtis Lee Goggins Sr. will be held 11AM Saturday, December 3rd, 2022 at the Grace Baptist Church 1553 E 21st Street . The visitation will be 5 - 7PM , Friday, December 2nd, 2022 at the mortuary. Interment in Evergreen Cemetery. Please sign the family guest book and view the video tribute @ www.tswarden.com.
