Obituary for Danise Voncil Jackson

Danise Voncil Jackson loving known as “Neicy” was born November 17, 1956 in Jacksonville, Florida to Dorothy Mae Jackson and Willie J. Jackson. Raised on the Eastside of town. In her high school years, Neicy played basketball, with many accomplishments. She graduated from Andrew Jackson Senior High School, Class of 1974. Neicy furthered her education at Edward Waters College and Florida Junior College, where she pursued a degree in Sports Education. Neicy joined the International Longshoreman Association (1408). In 2017, Neicy also began working for Amazon. 

On December 23, 2019, Danise answered God’s call and went home with the Lord.

Danise was proceed in death by her parents, Dorothy Mae and Willie J. Jackson; brother, Willie J. Jackson Jr.; and sister, Deborah Jackson.

Danise is survived by brothers, Ronald Jackson (Joyce), Robert Jackson, Gregory Jackson, Antonio Jackson, and Nathaniel Jackson; sisters, Patricia Jackson and Sheila Ramsey.

Neicy had no children of her own, but dedicated her life to help raise her nieces and nephews. Neicy had a great love for her nieces and nephews whom they loving referred to as “AUNTIE”.

She leaves to mourn Ricardo Jackson (Tonya), Sheldon Jackson, Edward Jackson, Nichole Brown (Samuel), John Graham Jr., Sentoria Jackson, Niki Alexander, Yarnell Butler (Caronda), Legregg Jackson (Nicole), Kwanza Jackson, and Davita Dinkins (Alfred).

Great nieces and nephews, Ricardo Jackson Jr., Sharika Jackson, Nathaniel Jackson Jr., La’nashia Jackson, Markia Brooks, Cratrell Finn, Ashlynn Jackson, Kiahrri Jackson, Lyric Jackson, Aonesti Brooks, Larry Andrews Jr., John Graham III, Justice Jackson, Sydney Jackson, Yuron Jackson, Kaleb Jackson, Legregg Jackson Jr., Paris Jackson, Blair Jackson, Yarnell Jackson, Nevaeh Jackson, Caylee Jackson, and Sheltiana Williams.

Great-Great nieces and nephews, Ryan, Royalty, Jasper, and Jayce; and a host of other relatives and friends.


The funeral service for Danise Voncil Jackson will be held 1:00 pm, Saturday, December 28th, 2019 at In The Word International Church 925 Spearing Street. The visitation will be 5-7pm, Friday, December 27th, 2019 at the funeral home, 4315 North Main Street Jacksonville, FL 32206. Interment in Evergreen Cemetery.
