A Time To Be Born
David Webb was born November 21, 1952 to the late Elizabeth Beard Webb in Yonkers, New York. Mrs. Beard passed away when David was just an infant, His uncle and aunt, Dave and Beatrice (Aunt Bee) Beard raised him in Jacksonville, Florida.
A Time To Be Educated
David attended R.L. Brown Elementary School and graduated from Matthew W. Gilbert High School, Class of 1970. He attended the Culinary Academy of Las Vegas, NV.
A Time For Repentance
David accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized into the fellowship of the First Baptist of Oakland, under the leadership of the late Charles B. Dailey. David was active in the Choir, Hospitality and Graduating Senior Banquet Committees.
A Time To Serve
After graduation, David enlisted in the United States Navy. Upon completion of his tour of duty, he enrolled in the Culinary Academy of Las Vegas. After graduation he was employed by the academy and later retired.
A Time To Grieve
David will be remembered by many for his gregarious personality. When he would do something mischievous he would say “After all I am David Webb”. He leaves to cherish his memory a host of cousins, his church family and his sisters in Christ, Sandra Moss Wells, Beverly Clark, Barbara Sapp, Esther Ashley and many friends.
The funeral service for David Webb will be held 10:30 am Wednesday, December 23rd, 2020 at the Samuel C. Rogers Jr. Memorial Chapel, 4315 N. Main Street, Jacksonville, FL 32206. The visitation will be 5:00-7:00 p.m., Tuesday, December 22nd, 2020 at the Funerals by T.S. Warden, 4315 North Main Street, Jacksonville, FL 32206. Interment in Jacksonville National Cemetery.
