Obituary for Deborah Ann Howell-Worthen

Deborah Ann Howell-Worthen was born December 24th, 1953 in Jacksonville, Florida to the late Mr. Samuel Howell and Ms. Willie Mae Trice. She attended the local public schools, graduating from Andrew Jackson Senior High School, Class of 1971.

Deborah was baptized at an early age at Little Rock Missionary Baptist by the late Reverend W. C. Mitchell. She served in various choirs and in the Youth Department. She was a member of the Harmony Missionary Baptist Church. She was formerly employed as a CNA at the Spring Glen nursing home for several years. Deborah was united in holy matrimony to Sam Edward Worthen on June 20th, 2006 in Folkston, Georgia.

She was preceded in death by her two sisters, Yvonne Jackson and Nadine Lewis; brother-in-law, Larry Stewart; and godson, Brian Lewis.

Deborah departed this life on January 29th, 2020 at UF Health. She leaves to cherish her memories: a devoted and loving husband, Sam Edward Worthen; sons; Keith (Shunnarrah) Howell, Kevin (Pamelyn) Howell, Edward (LaToya) Worthen, Derek Worthen, Dearyl Worthen, Maurice (Thelmeasia) Byrd, and Mannon Mack; daughter; Kiara (Rick) Leggett; 12 grandchildren: Tenara, Keith Jr., Keynara, Keinard, Autumn, Khia Howell. Charles, Kingston, Dream, Dearyl Worthen, Jasmine Thomas, and Marlecia Byrd; one great-granddaughter, Aasiya Warr; brothers and sisters; Samuel (Gwendolyn) Trice, Francis (Lawrence) Flowers, Ronald Howell, Gary (Marquita) Howell, JoAnn (Michael) Isaac, Carol Howell, and Rosa (Wallace) Richardson; aunties, Lorine Wells and Annie Snowden; sisters-in-law, Debra Corley, Ann (Eddie) Watson, and Laverne Worthen; brother-in-law; Melvin Worthen; godchildren: Tiffany Gordon, Koshawn Gomillion, Octavius Buiey, Collie Stevens, and Gregory McCray; a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins; special friends, Subriana Stafford, Pamela King, Sandra Jones, Felicia Whitten, Mildred Chambers, and Pauline Anthony; and many sorrowing friends and extended families Flowers, Banks, and Draytons.

The funeral service for Deborah Ann Howell will be held 1:00 pm Saturday, February 8th, 2020 at the St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church 3738 Winton Drive. The visitation will be 5:00 - 7:00 pm, Friday, February 7th, 2020 at the Funerals by T.S. Warden 4315 North Main Street Jacksonville, FL 32206. Interment in Restlawn Cemeteries.
