Donald Taft was born January 28, 1957 in Jacksonville, Florida. Donald received his early education in the Duval County Public School System. He graduated from Jean Ribault Senior High, Class of 1976. He was employed by the City of Jacksonville. Donald received Jesus Christ as a savior at an early age and joined Emanuel Missionary Baptist Church.
God, in his infinite wisdom called Donald home on October 22, 2020 to his eternal rest surrounded by his loving family. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lovely Taft; mother, Barbara Taft Beverly; brother, Alvin Taft; brother-in-law, Michael Bell; and his grandparents, James and Charlie Mae Taft.
Donald leaves to cherish his precious memories, children, Donald and Regina (Marlin); grandchildren, Donovan, Donte, and Landen; four sisters, Barbara Ann, Deborah (Theodore), Janet, and Brenda (Steve); two aunts, Virginia and Martha; one uncle, James; special friends, Eddie “LaLa” Monroe and a number of nieces, nephews, and cousins. The funeral service for Donald Taft will be held 11:00 am Friday, October 30th, 2020 at the Samuel C. Rogers Jr. Memorial Chapel, 4315 N. Main Street, Jacksonville, FL 32206. The visitation will be 5:00-7:00 pm, Thursday, October 29th, 2020 at the Funerals by T.S. Warden, 4315 North Main Street, Jacksonville, FL 32206. Interment in Restlawn Cemeteries South.
