Mrs. Dorothy Mae Rackley was born in Augusta, Georgia on April 19, 1938 to Eunice Evans and Essie B. Davis. She confessed Christ at an early age. She received her education from the Public Schools of Duval County and graduated from Old Stanton High School. Dorothy attended First New Zion Baptist Church.
Dorothy later met and married Ervin D. Rackley in Jacksonville, Florida on August 26, 1963. From this union 4 daughters, Elizabeth Evans, Essie Brown, Kim Sheppard and Shavaunna Harrity and a son, Timothy Rackley were born.
Dorothy departed this life on Monday, April 12, 2021. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ervin D. Rackley; mother, Essie B. Davis; son, Timothy Rackley; sister, Willie Mae Simpkins; and grandson, Jovon Sheppard.
Dorothy leaves to cherish her loving memories: daughters, Elizabeth Evans, Essie Brown, Kim Sheppard, and Shavaunna Harrity; sisters, Eunice Smith, Barbara Dasher, and Annie Rilla King; seven grandsons; six granddaughters, 10 great-grandsons, 10 great-granddaughters; and a host of other relatives and friends.
