Dr. Anthony J. Franklin was born on October 14, 1959 in Jacksonville, Florida. He grew up in Lawtey, Florida with his parents, Robert and Ineater Franklin and was the youngest of seven children.

He attended Bradford High School and upon graduation, he entered Georgia Southern College. While there, he majored in biology and minored in chemistry in pursuit of attaining a seat in a well-respected dental school. Dr. Franklin attained his goal and attended University of Florida’s College of Dentistry where he graduated with a Doctor of Medical Dentistry in 1986. A few months after graduation, he began his career in dentistry.

In December 1992, Dr. Franklin opened his first practice on the west side of Jacksonville where he practiced for almost ten years. Then, he moved his practice to Riverside where he practiced until December 2014. Dr. Anthony Franklin rendered excellent and patient care to thousands of patients in Jacksonville for 25 years.

Furthermore, he was affiliated with several professional organizations and with The Bethel Church where he served faithfully as a trustee for over 25 years. He was also a Life Member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc.

Dr. Franklin possessed a heart of love and generosity. He routinely donated to many churches, nonprofit organizations, and community efforts for the betterment of adults and youth in the Jacksonville community.

His dedication to providing excellent dentistry coupled with his commitment to bettering the Jacksonville community has been exemplary.

The funeral service for Dr. Anthony J. Franklin will be held 10:00 am Saturday, April 28th, 2018 at the The Bethel Church, 215 Bethel Baptist St. Jacksonville, FL 32202. The visitation will be held 5 - 7:00 pm, Friday, April 27th, 2018 at the The Bethel Church Historic Sanctuary. Interment in Peetsville Cemetery, Lawtey, FL, Monday April 30th 2018.
