Obituary for Edgar Jerome Perry

Edgar Jerome Perry was born on June 21, 1955. He was the son of Edgar Perry and Vera Mae Thomas Perry. Edgar graduated from New Stanton High School; he earned a scholarship to play football at Bethune Cookman College.  Edgar met and married Dorothy. He joined the United States Army where he served 10 years and 2 months in the Army Reserve. Edgar worked as a janitorial at the Memorial Hospital for six years.

Edgar was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Edgar and Vera Perry, and his brother, Ronald Perry.

Edgar leaves a legacy of memories for his wife, Dorothy Perry and families; uncle, Johnnie (Laneen) Thomas of Silver Springs, MD; aunt, Gwendolyn (husband) of Tampa, FL. Four daughters: Priscilla (Pastor Jeffrey Windley): Joley Holmes, Raleigh, NC; Inez Holmes, Wilkes, PA; Gaylynn Holmes, Passaic, NJ. Ten grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren; and a host of relatives and friends. Four sisters-in-law: Alberta Agee; Sandy Washington, Passaic, NJ; Sharon (Rodger Robinson), Bloomfield, NJ. Four brothers-in-law: Johnny West, Atlanta, GA; Allen (Shelly Washington), Bogota, NJ; Gleen (Levette Washington), Sicklerville, NJ; Willie C. Horne, Warner Robins, GA; special friend, Claudia Porter and a dear friend, Ms. Betty Hall.

The funeral service for Edgar Jerome Perry will be held 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, June 8th, 2021 at the Funerals by T.S. Warden, 4315 North Main Street, Jacksonville, FL 32206. The visitation will be 4:00 - 6:00 p.m., Monday, June 7th, 2021 at the Funerals by T.S. Warden, 4315 North Main Street, Jacksonville, FL 32206. Interment in Jacksonville National Cemetery.
