Obituary for Ela Mae Williams

Ms. Ela Mae Williams was born on March 3, 1931 in Furman, SC to Stephen Young III and Ida Mae Pollin, but she grew up in Beaufort, SC. She graduated from Robert Small High School. She moved to Jacksonville, FL in her early years where she met and married Elijah Williams. The two then had nine children. She was a member of Summerville Baptist Church for over 40 + years. She served in the choir and also was on the Deaconess/Missionary Ministry until the Lord called her home.

Ela Mae was called home to be with the Lord on Friday, August 14th, 2020. She was preceded in death by her father, Stephen Young III; mother, Ida Mae Pollin; brothers, sisters, and her oldest son, Elijah Williams, Jr.

Ela Mae leaves to cherish her memories: daughters: Eleanor Cross, Linda Brown, Estra Williams (Johnny), Elcina Smith (James), Cynthia Evans (Devlin); sons: Ernest Williams (Felina), Eugene Williams (Celeste), and Larry Williams (Pamela); brother Stephen Young IV; a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends.

The funeral service for Ela Mae Williams will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, August 22nd, 2020 at the Samuel C. Rogers Jr. Memorial Chapel 4315 N. Main Street Jacksonville, FL 32206. The visitation will be 5:00 - 7:00 pm, Friday, August 21st, 2020 at the Funerals by T.S. Warden 4315 North Main Street Jacksonville, FL 32206. Interment in Evergreen Cemetery.
