Obituary for Elgin Virginia Robinson

Ms. Elgin Virginia Robinson affectionately known to her family and friends as “Gent” was born on September 22, 1953 in Wrightsville, Georgia to Willie Lee Robinson and Willie Mae Robinson. Gent was educated in Washington County before the family relocated to Jacksonville, Florida where she furthered her education in the Duval County Public School system.

Loving, humorous, kind, spunky, vibrant and courageous are the words that best describe who Gent was as a person. Her love of family, fishing and dancing often made for a memorable time. She was a devoted member of Jesus Name Assembly serving under the leadership of Apostle Alfonza Young. Gent was faithful in service whether it was a fundraiser, cooking for church functions or simply cleaning in the house of God.

The final chapter was written on Wednesday, June 13, 2018. Ever obedient to the will of the Master, our beloved Gent answered the call and went quietly to sleep. Her daughter, Ykesha Robinson, preceded her in death; as well as her parents, Willie Lee Robinson and Willie Mae Robinson; siblings, Arlene Robinson, Allene Williams, Freddie Robinson, Willie L. Robinson and Johnnie Robinson.

Gent leaves to cherish her sweet memory: son, Terron Allen (Tennie); daughter, Cynthia Stevens (Edward); grandchildren, Carlos Jr., Ausha, Terron Jr., Kenneth, Tennira, Yolanda, Rondai, Ronia, Novella, Edward Jr. and Shaun; siblings, Frank Robinson (Edith), Rosa Spear, James Robinson (Linda), Gene Robinson (Bernita) and Danny Robinson; loving and devoted nieces, Cathy Studemire and Shani Young; a special friend, Henry White; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many sorrowing friends.

Elgin Virginia Robinson passed away Wednesday, June 13th, 2018 . Arrangements in Care of: Funerals by T.S. Warden, 904-765-1234
