Obituary for Elizabeth Laverne Lacey
Elizabeth Laverne Wilder Lacey was born on December 28, 1932 to the late J. T. and Louise Wilder in Macon, Georgia. She was the oldest of four children. Ms. Lacey attended the Bibb County Public School System where she received her formal education.
Ms. Lacey was affectionately known as “Dot” by her family and close friends.
Ms. Lacey met and married Charlie C. Grady and to that union one child was born. Mr. Grady died after 20 years of marriage. She later met and married Mr. Floyd Lacey who preceded her in death. Ms. Lacey moved to Jacksonville, Florida in 1998 to be with her daughter and family residing in Morris Manor for a number of years. She joined St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church under Bishop John E. Guns where she was a faithful member of Noon Day Bible Study. She also attended the Harris House where she enjoyed going 3 days a week. She and Renee Harris created a special bond that was unbreakable.
Mrs. Lacey’s favorite hobbies included singing, crocheting, and making beautiful scarfs.
Mrs. Lacey earned her wings on Saturday, June 18, 2020 at her residence. She was preceded in death by brother, J. T. Wilder, Jr. Her survivors are daughter, Elizabeth Allen; granddaughter, Bridget L. Allen; sister, Sonya Daniels; brother, Robert Wilder, Sr.; nephews, Robert Wilder, Dexter Wilder, Bruce Wilder, Jerry Daniels (Cheryl), Adrian and Tilthony Daniels; nieces, Aquilla Perkins (Andrea), Yolanda Daniels, and Sabrina Jackson (George); loving caretaker, Ms. Barbara Watson; a host of cousins and great nieces and nephews.
The funeral service for Elizabeth Laverne Lacey will be held 11:00 am Saturday, June 27th, 2020 at the St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church 3738 Winton Drive Jacksonville, FL 32208. The visitation will be 5:00 - 7:00 pm, Friday, June 26th, 2020 at the Funerals by T.S. Warden 4315 North Main Street Jacksonville, FL 32206. Interment in Restlawn Cemeteries.
