Obituary for Elouise Hunt

Elouise J. Hunt (Tiny) was born on April 21, 1924 in Bamberg, SC to the late Wilbur and Elizabeth Jamison. She was educated in the Bamberg County School District in Denmark, SC.

She confessed Christ at an early age and upon moving to Jacksonville, FL, she joined Abyssinia Missionary Baptist Church, where she was a Deaconess and served faithfully for over 60 plus years.

Elouise always had a passion for caring for children; from raising her own to providing in-home childcare services. In her senior years, she worked as a daycare teacher at ABC Academy.

In 1965, she married the late Deacon Hubert Hunt Jr. and they enjoyed over 42 years of marriage.

On Tuesday, December 22, 2020, God looked down and with his touch of spiritual peace and quietness, He took Elouise into his loving arms and rocked her gently to sleep. She was preceded in death by her husband, Deacon Hubert Hunt Jr; her brothers: Theodise Jamison, Dee Willie Jamison, Wilbur Jamison, Daniel Jamison, and Curtis Jamison; and her grandson, Johnnie Horn.

Elouise leaves to cherish the memories of her life, two sons: Joseph William Jamison Sr. (Shirley) and Anthony D. Hunt; three daughters: Faith B. Smith, Tonglia B. Davis (Anthony), and Ebony S. Mobley (Melvin); eight grandchildren: Valerie Dantzler, Joey Jamison, Anthony D. Davis (Megan), Justin Davis (Angie), Stanley Lopes, Anthony Hunt, Destinae Wilson, JaQuar Jones, and Sammel Jones; five great-grandchildren: John, Naje, Zi’Yon, Z’Khi and Ryleigh; three sisters: Julia M. Bradley, Estelle Howard, and Willa Mae Odom; one brother: Willie Jamison; one sister-in-law: Letitia Turner (George); loving cousins: Bernice Craft (Arbie) and Francis “Polly” Conners; devoted godson: Daryl E. Cuyler (Menette); special daughters-in-love: Jameshia Hunt, Karen Wade, Cutoria Freeman, and Ramona Morrissey; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and many wonderful friends.


The funeral service for Elouise Hunt will be held 11:00 AM Tuesday, December 29th, 2020 at the Abyssinia Missionary Baptist Church 10325 Interstate Center Drive. The visitation will be 5-7 PM Monday, December 28th, 2020 at Funerals by TS Warden. Interment in Jacksonville National Cemetery.
