Obituary for Ernestine Curry

Ernestine Curry affectionately called “Tina” was born on July 15, 1929 to Annie Chance in Savannah, Georgia. Ernestine was adopted by parents, James Henry and Amanda Curry. She confessed Christ at an early age and was a member of Prospect Baptist Church in Crescent, Georgia.

Ernestine went to Todd Grant High School in McIntosh County. Later in life she became a member of Cohen Temple Church of God in Christ and Evangel Temple in Miami, Florida for many years where she was a faithful choir member. Ernestine was never married.

Ernestine departed this life Monday, August 8, 2016. She was preceded in death by her parents, Annie Chance, James Henry, and Amanda Curry; and son, Vincent Curry Anniston, Alabama.

Ernestine leaves to cherish her memories a loving son, William T. Curry, Sr; two devoted daughter-in-laws, JoeAnn Curry of Jacksonville, Florida and Dorothy Curry of Anniston, Alabama; god sister, Ruthie L. Lee of Brunswick, Georgia; seven grandchildren, William T. Curry Jr. (Crystal) of California, Janae Bryant (Corey) of Mississippi, Quinten Curry and Essanee Curry both of Jacksonville, Florida; Michael Curry, Anthony Curry, and Reginald Curry,(Contina) all of Anniston, Alabama; a host of great-grandchildren; other relatives, church family, and many friends.


The funeral service for Ernestine Curry will be held 11:00 am Saturday, August 13th, 2016 at the Prospect Baptist Church 1033 Smith Road South Crescent, Georgia 31304. The visitation will be 5:00 pm 7:00 pm , Friday, August 12th, 2016 at the Funerals By T. S. Warden 4315 North Main Street Jacksonville, FL 32206. Interment in Munford Cemetery Schellman Bluff.
