Obituary

Obituary for Ethel "Granny" Cherry

Ethel Lena “Granny” Cherry was born on May 15, 1945 in New York, NY to her mother, Rosa Bell Tutson.

Ethel went home to be with her Creator on Sunday, August 30, 2020 at 10:08 PM.

Ethel is survived by her daughter, Cendra Cherry; sons, Lamont Cherry, Jr. and Isaac Cherry; grandchildren: Anthony Cherry, Jenna Cherry, Walter Cherry, Sr., Sherica Cherry, Jamelia Jones, and Destiny Jones; siblings: twin brother, Walter Tutson; baby sister, Arleen Perry; sister, Ella; brothers, Joel, Ernest, Earl, and Richard; many great-grandchildren; a host of great nephews and nieces; and a slew of friends near and far.

This is our second hardest goodbye. We lost our dad in 2012 to prostate cancer. Now momma has been called home and we will see both of them later.

Momma touched the lives of so many people in one way or another. She instilled good morals, respect and love. She taught us how to be responsible and to respect ourselves and others. Momma taught all of us many lessons of life. She wasn’t one to sit around. She was always doing something or make us do it. Momma loved all of us in her own way.
