Obituary for Florida Mae Johnson - Hayes

Florida Mae Johnson-Hayes was born on May 14, 1936 to the late Jay Johnson and Louise Jones. She attended local schools in Columbia County, Florida. She was united in marriage to Clarence Hayes on August 16, 1969.

Florida was employed by Cathedral Towers and retired after 25 years, she was also a faithful member of Greater Friendly Missionary Baptist Church where she served as a Deaconess, Usher and a member of the choir.

Florida departed this life Wednesday, October 9, 2019. She was preceded in death by her son, Jonathan Carter; sisters, Rosa Griffin and Creasy Brady; brothers, Zack Johnson, Emory Johnson and Otis Johnson; and her beloved dog, Max.

Florida leaves to cherish her memories, husband Clarence; son, Bruce (Desiree); daughter, Katrina; stepdaughters, Daphne Wallace (Howard) and Staphne Wing (James); stepson, Rodney; her loving sisters, Thelma Morris, Joella Johnson and Hazel Shivers (Marcus); her legacy continues through granddaughters, Johnetta Carter, Shayla Ward-Davis, Latasha Butler (Darryl), and Ebony; grandsons, Jonathan Scurry, Christopher, Jonathan, David, Blakely Wing, Al, Ryan, Chris Owens and Seth Owens; a host of great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and special friends who she dearly loved.
