Obituary for Frank Hamilton Sr.

Frank Hamilton, Sr. was the fourth of nine children born to the late Lettie and Charles Hamilton on August 21, 1923 in Savannah, Georgia. He was educated in Chatham County Public Schools. Frank proudly joined the United States Army where he served in World War II. He was employed by Anheuser Busch in Jacksonville, Florida. He enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren; listening to music of all genre and expressing his artistic talents in carpentry. Frank was an avid follower of political affairs around the world and was extremely well versed about the latest developments regarding past and current events.

Frank was a devout Christian, loyal husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather whose immeasurable love for God, family and friends was reflected in his daily life. His unabating love, compassion and kindness permeated the hearts and souls of everyone he met.

Frank is and will always be an irreplaceable blessing, who taught everyone he knew many valuable lifelong lessons.

On Sunday, June 10, 2018 our precious Father called Frank to rest. In addition to his parents, Lettie and Charles Hamilton he was preceded in death by his son, Ricky Hamilton (2000); eight siblings: brothers, James, Earl, Ernest, Leroy, Charles Jr. and Marion; sisters, Charlesetta and Ruth.

Frank is survived by his wife of 68 years of marriage, Leola Hamilton; sons, Frank Hamilton, Jr. (Ianette ) and Michael Hamilton; daughters, Linda Hamilton Powell (Randolph), Joyce Hamilton and Pamela James; grandchildren, Frank Hamilton, II, Rickey Hamilton Jr., Bryan Hamilton, Paul Hamilton, Michael Hamilton, Jr., Kelly Hamilton, Christopher James and Randolph Powell, Jr.; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

The funeral service for Frank Hamilton, Sr. will be held 2:30 pm SATURDAY, June 23rd, 2018 at the Woodlawn Presbyterian Church 3026 Woodlawn Rd. The visitation will be held 5 - 7:00 pm, Friday at the mortuary. Interment in Edgewood Cemetery. Please sign the family guest book and view the video tribute @ www.tswarden.com.
