Obituary for Frank Dan Lyles

Frank Dan Lyles was born on July 17, 1951 to the late John D. Lyles and late Willie Mae Evans Lyles in Jacksonville, Florida. As a young boy, Frank and his siblings also lived in Dawson, Georgia on his grandparents’ farm. Frank attended local schools in Jacksonville, Florida. As he grew older, he attended Job Corp in Lexington, Kentucky where he received his exceptional training in brick masonry and welding. Many knew him as Billy. He lead a life of outstanding citizenship with associates like Tommy Hazouri (former Mayor of Jacksonville) and numerous City Council Representatives, Pastors, Deacons, and the list goes on.

Frank was also employed by Jefferson Smurfit Corporation and later retired, all while also becoming a member of I.L.A local 1408 in 1982, which he was a member for over 30 years. He retired in April 2016. Frank always reminded us he loved working on the waterfront.

Frank passed away on March 3, 2018. He was preceded in death by his father, mother, and his brother, Lamar Lyles.

Frank leaves to cherish his loving memories: three children, Tenesia L. Robinson (Avery), Lehobe Lyles, and Annone Lyles; 13 grandchildren, Krishawna Stewart, Alicia Lyles, Sudqiwa Lyles, Zahirah Lyles, Raniya Miller, Avianna Robinson, Rashell Lyles, Raleigh Miller, Bechira Robinson, Jacari Lyles, Sarai Lyles, Lehobe Lyles Jr., and Amaris Robinson; six siblings, Virgina Green, Carrie Dempsey, Shirley Hayes, Queenell Henderson, Larry Lyles, and Leroy Lyles; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and a loving friend, Mary L. Bryant, the mother of his children.
