Frederick Allen Jackson affectionately called “Freddie” was born on June 8,1948 in Jacksonville, Florida. Freddie was a long time member of St. Joseph United Methodist Church in Jacksonville Florida under the leadership of Pastor Avis Smith. He was educated in the Public Schools of Duval County, graduating from Matthew W. Gilbert Sr. High School, Class of 1966.

Freddie relocated to New York City, where he attended Pace College (now Pace University) and worked for American Express. He returned to Jacksonville, Florida and worked for Blue Cross and Blue Shield, Bell South and AT&T Telephone Company. Retired from Pathmark Stores, Inc.. (New York City) in 2012.

Freddie departed this life on Thursday, June 15, 2017. He was preceded in death by his father, Edgar Jackson Jr.; mother, Ora Williams Newkirk; 2 brothers, Willie Newkirk and Herbert Lewis Starling Jr.

Freddie leaves to mourn his passing two loving aunts, Rosa Lee Butler and Elvester Mae Bennett; four nieces, Deborah Newkirk, Florine Edwards (Chris), Lenee Herring (NYC), Lisa Felton (NYC) and Charlene McGowan (North Carolina); very very special cousins, Linda Zimmerman (Charles), Myra Wilson, Sharron Mays, Warren Bennett (Joyce), Wanda Desue (Nathan), Wayne Bennett (Regina), Valorie Zimmerman, Carlos Zimmerman and Frankie Washington; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and 3 life long friends, Francina Dunbar, Loretta Brown-Perry and Sylvia Moore; two sister-in-laws, Carolyn Newkirk and Maxine Starling. I Love you Jackie, Deborah, and Fran.
