Geneva Taylor-Respess was born on March 20, 1918 to Leatha Taylor in Abbeville, Alabama. She accepted Christ at an early age. Geneva later met and married the love of her life, Hugh Respess and they shared in holy matrimony for many years prior to his passing.

Geneva departed this life on Wednesday, January 30, 2019. She was preceded in death by her mother, Leatha Taylor; husband, Hugh Respess; children, Lavette Respess, Sarah Respess, Sarah Turner, Adele Holston, Rachel Paige, Nellie Mae Kirksey, Annie Lou Miller, Annie Bell Tunstall, Hugh Respess II, Felton Respess, Sr. and George Respess.

Geneva leaves to cherish her memory: children, Evelyn Woodard, David Lee Turner, Antoinette P. Turner, Marian Respess-Conley, Darren Respess, Sr. and Richard Respess, Sr.; a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great great-grandchildren and great great great-grandchildren.

The funeral service for Geneva Respess will be held 1:00 pm Saturday, February 9th, 2019 at the Samuel C. Rogers Jr. Memorial Chapel 4315 N. Main Street Jacksonville, FL 32206. The visitation will be 5:00 - 7:00 pm, Friday, February 8th, 2019 at the Funerals By T. S. Warden 4315 North Main Street Jacksonville, FL 32206. Interment in Edgewood Cemetery.
