Harold James Smith, Jr. was born on April 7, 1949 to Harold Carl Smith, Sr. and Elizabeth Clancy in Bridgeport, Connecticut. He attended Central High School. Harold later met and married Arlene Denson in Arlington, Virginia, to this union 4 children, Andrew, Harold, Alton and Alicia were born.

Harold joined the United States Air Force in 1968, he toured over the world and served in the Vietnam war, he was honorably discharged in 1972 as a Sergeant. Harold was also a dedicated car hauler with Allied Automotive for many years, known by his CB handle “BODYGUARD”.

Harold departed this life on Saturday, June 9, 2018. He was preceded in death by his son, Andrew Lawrence Smith, Sr.; sister, Carolyn Alexander; brother, Kenneth Smith; and his mother, Elizabeth C. Mack.

Harold leaves to cherish loving memories: wife, Arlene Smith; daughter, Alicia Smith-Patterson (Timothy); sons, Harold Smith (Joyce) and Alton Smith (Melissa); sister, Phyllis Smith; grandchildren, Kyra, Lauren, Valandrea, Andrew Jr., Harold IV and Ashton; a host of other relatives and friends.
