Harrison Simmons, Jr. was born on January 22, 1937 in Jacksonville, Florida to Harrison Simmons, Sr. and Elma Loretta Simmons. Harrison attended Gilbert High School and worked as a Longshoreman ILA since 1973. He met and married Patricia in Jacksonville on September 17, 1978.

Harrison departed this life May 1, 2019. He was preceded in death by his father, Harrison Simmons, Sr.; mother, Elma Loretta Simmons; sister, Rebecca “Tilly” Middleton; in-laws, Sandra & Edward Pratt.

Harrison leaves to cherish his memories: his beloved wife, Patricia Davis-Simmons; son, Harrison Simmons III (Terrallyn); daughter, Crystal Rowell (Kristopher); grandchildren, Taija, Trinity and Terrill; mother-in-law, Authorine Davis; special niece, Georgia Pat Daise; special nephew, Perry Barnes; sister-in-laws, Gladys Hill (Jerome) and Annette Bishop (Walter); brother-in-laws, Fred Davis, Jr. (Yolanda), Calvin Davis (Mary) and Carnell Davis; a host of other relatives and friends.

The funeral service for Harrison Simmons Jr. will be held 11:00 am Saturday, May 11th, 2019 at the Greater New Mount Lilla Missionary Baptist Church, 2061 Frank E Avenue Jacksonville, FL 32208. The visitation will be 5:00 pm 7:00 pm , Friday, May 10th, 2019 at the Funerals By T. S. Warden 4315 North Main Street Jacksonville, FL 32206. Interment in .
