Obituary for Harry Lee McCants

Harry Lee McCants was born on November 26, 1942 to the late Dwight McCants and Irene Parker-McCants in Camden, Alabama. He was educated in the Camden School System in Alabama then moved to Jacksonville, FL. In 1967, he married Argrett “Anita” Henry, and from this union two daughters, Tonia and Sabrina, were born.

Harry was employed with the City of Jacksonville for 33 years as a Public Works Department Supervisor. Harry obeyed Christ on March 7, 2007 at Northside Church of Christ under the leadership of Bro. Charlie McClendon. He was dedicated until his health affected his ability to attend church services.

Harry departed this life on Saturday, May 25, 2019. He was preceded in death by his parents, Dwight McCants and Irene Parker-McCants and brother, Sylister “CJ” McCants.

Harry leaves to cherish his memories, his wife, Argrett “Anita”; daughters, Tonia (Clayton) Gadson and Sabrina (Reginald) Stargill; a special goddaughter, Brittani “Whitney Houston” (Brian) Whipple; sisters, Rosa Gay, Creola (James) Lanier, and Leola McCants; mother-in-law, Ruby Stevens; one grandson, Jaiden Whipple; one grand-dog, Oscar Stargill; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
